Businesses, community organisations and individuals connected with Wynnum and Manly have been recognised in the annual Bayside Community Awards, highlighting the people and local operators contributing across the bayside community.
Wynnum businesses among the winners included Munja Pizza, named Bayside Business of the Year; Little Birdie Hair Co, which received the Best Beauty Business award; and Little Cedar Store, recognised as Best Retail Business. The Eclectic Mix owner Kylie Alcorn received the Outstanding Community Service (Individual) award.
Other local award recipients included Wynnum Manly Veterinary Hospital for Best Pet Services Business, Bayside Hand Therapy for Best Professional Services Business, and Scotty’s Espresso as Best Small Business Newcomer. Keid In Electrical received the Best Trade/Industrial Business award, while EJA Electrical & Air apprentice Eliza Beauchamp was recognised as Outstanding Apprentice of the Year.
The awards also recognised people and organisations serving the wider bayside area. Nicole Waller received Best Educator (Individual), while Banette Bayside and Cedar and Pine Wine Bar won the small and general hospitality categories respectively. Evoxia Physio was named Best Health, Wellbeing and Fitness business, and Vitale & Co Property Management Services received the Best Real Estate Agency Business award.
Community-focused winners included Rosies Wynnum Manly Branch, recognised as Outstanding Community Service Organisation, and Tommy Butterworth of Little Gnome Bookshop, who received the Outstanding Customer Service (Individual) award. The awards provide a snapshot of the businesses, workers and community organisations making a visible contribution around Wynnum, Manly and neighbouring bayside suburbs.
